Planing on doing either a 347 stroker or a 331 on my 86. Not sure if it would be better to go carb or efi? Obvisiouly its cheaper to go carb but wuts ur input? Which has more readily available parts.
Also lookin for info on beefing up my aod, wuts a proven route to handle the engine?
All opinions and comments welcome

all the parts are the same once you make sure you have valve clearance with the heads, they both run off of a 8.2 deck height 302 motor. Once you go up to a 351 then parts start to differ. You will have to clearance the block for the 347, not sure if you will have to do the same with a 331. All depends how much you want to spend and how fast you want it to be.

if you want to beef up the aod, get a lentech, they can handle power and are fun to drive. several other companies make strong aod's as well. your converter will depend on cam size, rear end ratio, and weather or not you have a power adder.

I plan on havin it n/a, high compression, cam'd the fuk out. Not sure of specs yet as to wut components ill be usin. Anothere question is how much will it roughly cost me to do this project efi vs carb including tuning cost, also will i notice any big drivability issues between the too. Wanna do alot of research b4 i start puttin tons of money into it and end up changin my mind.

Carb will be way cheaper. I had a Vic jr with a quick fuel carb cost was 800. Tuning can be done yourself. Efi is more costly and 500 for the tune
