What do you mean by: some people don't like 28oz imbalance? 90% of the stroker kits come set up that way, you have to change out the balancer and flywheel if the shortblock is going into a 5.0, but otherwise, there is no disadvantage. If you want to sustain over 6k rpm, in say, road racing, then at that point you can benefit from a neutral balanced motor.

I just read that rotating assymblies with a 28oz balance are prone to causing more vibaration bcz ford used lighter rods , pistons etc. in pre 84 cars and that the 85 and up stangs use a 50oz balance.... What do you mean by change the flywheel and balancer if it is going in a 5.0 ? I'm gnna b using a 74 302 block and 5speed trans combo....so will I b able to run this setup without issues in balancing

does not matter what car it is going into. You will have to put a 28 oz balancer and flywheel on if the motor is 28 oz balance.

its your crank that determines your outer balance. if your crank is set up for 28, you have no choice but that.

Sorry if my reply was a bit off track. The point which I was attempting to make is that a stock 5.0 flywheel and damper will not be compatible with a 28 oz imbalance bottomend. And I really doubt that there will be any perceptible throttle response difference between a 28 oz and a 50 oz imbalance motor.

If 28 oz imbalance was so bad, then why are 80% of the 8.2" deck stroker kits set up that way?

28 oz is less weight hanging on the end of the crankshaft.....so do the math...

neutral balance is the next best thing....
