Topic: what fluid for my t-5???

i have a 1990 5.0 with the stock 5speed and its about time to change the fluid i want to know yor guys opinions for the best ATF fluid in my t-5 (synthetic or not)and the sucess you had compared to before the change. i was thinkin (royal purpal max ATF)
any opionons would be greatly appreciated! thanx guys!

go with the royal purle. I used in the last few cars, and shifting was smoother.

i got that b&m trick shift siitin im my garage been kinda lazy 2 flush my tranny cuz i dont drive my cobra now that its raining so if u try that out let me kno how that works for u..thanks -mario

dex/merc it takes about 4 qts or you can also use mercon v

Dont use anything that the tranny doesn't ask for. Stick with the Dex/merc III thru V if you dont want to run into the possibility of problems. Not saying that there will be problems, but at least you'll know that you wont have to drain and refill the fluid again...just my 2 cents

does royal purple maxatf or redline d4 atf fall in the catagory of dexIII/merc? i think they say they are compataple with those requierments or that the meet the dex/merc requierments or somthing like that. is that what i want? id like to get the best dex/merc possible for my t-5

and if synthetic isnt the best for my t-5 then would i go with somthing that isnt synthetic? i just want watever my tranny will be most happy with weather its the cheap stuff or most expensive

I have a few friends that have 10 and 11 second cars and they run the cheapest dex/merc ATF they can find (carquest brand) and have not had any problems with their T5s and or Tremecs. As long as it is Dex/merc III-V approved then it's ok to use.
