Hey guys, I need some help. I hooked up a Ford code reader to my 88 GT and it read our: 4R, 5R, 12R, and 54R. Now I know the 12R is that the RPM at idle is out of range. The other codes aren't defined in the book, so if anyone has an idea I would truely appreciate the help. Thank you!

I'm sorry but I don't quite understand what you mean by 4r, 5r, 12r and 54r. A foxbody runs off the EEC-IV ecu and the code numbers should range from 11 and up (11 meaning everythin is normal). Where did you get those codes from?

I got the numbers from the Ford Code Reader. The test was performed in the KOER (Key On Engine Running) position. The numbers displayed come with a letter O, R, or C. O = Key on Engine off, R = Key On Engine Running, and C = Continuos Memory.

Try this. Use the bottom right diagram where you have a jumper wire going from the DLC (Data Link Connector) to the lonely wire that should be right next to the connector. Connect the jumper wire with the engine completely off. After you connect the jumper wire, turn the key to KOEO and wait for the codes. Get the numbers and post them up and I'll see what I can do for ya [patriot]
