The heater went out on my 83 notch and I was wondering what the problem could be? It worked fine for a while and then just stopped working. Suggestions?

Does the thermostat open, can you see it work on the gauge? If the cooling system or heater core are plugged, it won't blow heat.

your heater core is bad, on an 83 i believe u dont have to take down the dash, i think you can jus pull out the glove box and take it out from there. the heater core is like $50 @ kragen. i had a 83 glx convert with the same problem

The gauge seems to work but is always on the C side. Only if I sit idling in traffic does the guage move up.

if the motors warmed up and all your getting is cold air its most likely a cloged heater core. try and flush it out before droping cash on a new core.
