So going to lunch today I was making a right hand turn and realized a car was coming quite fast. So I got on it a bit to make sure I was clear. Got up to like 25mph and I heard a tiny pop and lost like 50% power. Car has a totally different tone to it and I'm getting the backfire pops WAY more than normal. I searched around in the engine bay and I dont see any leaks out of the norm. Pull the dipstick and smell fuel on it but no signs of water. The motor is far from stock but I didnt build it. 92 lx 302 est. 330 hp. I really need some help here guys. I'm almost to the point to just pull the engine and work from there. Unfortunatly I dont really have the room so I'm trying to avoid this action. Advise?

Make sure the evap line to your fuel cannister is still hooked up (vaccum hose from cannister to intake manifold).

So after searching around in there I noticed the PCV valve in the back of the intake popped out. Pushed it back in and ran it. A LOT better but still seems like something is wrong. Could I have done any damage running it like a mile with that out?

Hello,

No, it will be fine [Smile] I used to shoot that out all of the time when I had excessive blow by on an old car.

Do you have an after market fuel pressure regulator? If so check that because it happenned to me once with my car it was a bad regulator and it was dumping fuel through the vacuum line that goes from the regulator to the back of the intake manifold.I bet you anything that's where your problem is.And if you say that your oil dipstick smells like fuel.I guarantee you that that's your issue with the car.LMK [patriot]
