I went to start my stang today, the first time in a week, I turned the key and the gauges swept all the way to max then back to zero like when the battery has just been recharged. All the car does is turn over and not start, it backfired after about 40 seconds of turning over and that was ll she wrote. Every single time the key is turned the gauges complete 1 sweep, my guess would be a PATS problem, anyone had a similar problem like this?

The car was at the dealer 3 weeks ago because the speedo wire and the S terminal wires broke when the new motor went in. The car ran kinda crappy before because its untuned but ever since the dealer fixed those two wires the car won't even idle and smokes like crazy. It runs so bad now it took me literally 10 gallons of gas to drive 7 miles...

Any help would be appreciated...

had a similar experiance, you said its untuned? has it had a computer chip(plug in) previously? sounds like maybe pats and needs to be bypassed through a tune or ecm needs a reflash, worst case is your computer was fried, my be a short or bd ground, my buddies did the same think and i tried everything to fix it turned out the ecm was fried, i believe he put in a superchips plug in chip when i told him not to
