i got a 4 bang that i change to a 351w and i changed everything but my fuel pump is not turning on when i turn the key its brand new but i think i got something thats not hooked up right cause i checked the pump from the trunk and it cuts on

how did you check from the truck if the pump was working ?
and here is a schematic - follow the fule pump relay -use a test light to see if it has power

the fuel pump relay underneath the drivers seat on a 4banger is a dummy, it has no function.

you need to replace it with a real fuel pump relay, either from a v8 donor car, or buy one for a v8 mustang from a parts store.

just one of the many differences on a 4 banger compared to a 5.0...

what do you think my problem is blind... My 88 4cyl conversion as well has a problem, when i turn key on the fuel pump stays on [Confused] I tried a relay from the junk, about 3 of them but same thing. but i see your saying that relay is a dummy, but when i take it off it wont start

i checked the relay and i check the pump from the trunk it works i got two diffrent relays that connect to the harness but its not working and there were both for v8s

does the 4cyl suppose to have the relay under the seat because i dont have it the car is a 92 mustang

i had two computers and i got them mixed up the 92 V8 computer works the other was from a diffrent v8 thanks [dance]

the 92's relay is by the MAF on the engine harness.

probably the ECU or the EEC relay, or whoever did the swap bypassed one of those relay's because they couldn't figure it out.
