can the heads just swap over with no mods to the block?

I did it a few months ago, It was pretty easy.
2v exhaust manifolds don't work on 4v heads, you need 4v manifolds/headers.
I am using the GT's stock engine harness and ECU (computer) and it runs fine, all the tuners I've spoken with say the GT and cobra computers are the same, so getting a tune for either is the same. I use an SCT X-cal2 with my car and tune it myself with their free extremetune software...
from this - to this -
The car is really a lot more fun to drive now, I love the high revving nature of it, completely different from my 5.0

bought mark8 swapped the GT SOHC's motors parts onto it- oil pickup tube/screen oil pan motor mounts a/c comp. p/s pump flywheel clutch pilot bearing (new) oil pressure sensor, coolant temp sensor, ect sensor
bought 96 cobra parts and installed- imrc plates (and deleted the butterfly's and controller) intake manifold throttle body throttle cable/bracket cruise control cable air intake tube from MAF to t/b fuel rail/regulator exhaust manifolds alternator bracket
I had to extend the wiring for a few sensors, like the TPS, EGR, etc, pretty self explanatory what needs to be extended when you go to plug them in.
I also had to spend about an hour making the lower radiator hoses work out with the oil cooler and thermostat housing on that lower hose.
I used the MAF and injectors from the mark8, uses the clutch/flywheel/tranny/driveshaft/H-pipe/catback/tranny mount/etc etc etc from the GT.
It only rev'd to 6k with the stock GT computer, and it stumbles a bit when cold, but that's just the tune. With the out of the box default tune from SCT on my x-cal2 for a 4-valve `96-`98 mustang, it runs a lot better, and made 259.9rwhp on a dynojet with 13.0 A/F ratio across the board.
