i have a 1994 mustang v6 auto. i think that my brake switch is bad because the brake light do not come on and i cant pull the car out of drive. i checked the fuses and they are good. so does this mean the brake switch is bad? im able to get it out of park if i play with the ignition turning it half way on.

if its the brake switch is it hard to replace?

the brake switch is very easy to replace, but I'm not sure if that's the problem.

get under the dash and look at the brake pedal arm, you'll see the brake switch easily, it's the only thing that wraps around the brake arm and has an electrical connector on it, it comes off with a little clip.

there's another switch on the brake pedal but it has a vacuum line going to it (large rubber line) don't bother with that one, that's just for the cruise control.
