I saw the commercial for it and I been wantin to check it out. Figured I'd run some thru the cobra. Has anyone ever used it before or heard anything about it? I'm runnin royal purple synthetic oil and it says its compatible but I wanted to get some more info on it before I pour it into my motor

I use it all the time in my 86 burban, it brings it from 7 cylinders to at least 7.75. It works great if you have minor compression problems, but I don't know if you need it if your not having any problems.

I would NOT use it. You're meaning the stuff you pour into your oil that's supposed to give back HP and raise compression etc right? If so, DO NOT put it into your Cobra.

Yeah I'm curious 2...... But Iam very skeptical about putting that in my motor cuz I don't wanna mess up the internals. I've just been looking for a way to clean out the motor outside of the regular oil change. I've also heard good things about sea foam but that's made for boats and I don't wanna burn up my cats

sea foam is good stuff. i've used it plenty of times on all kinds of cars and never once had a problem. i'm sure people will chime in and say that a tablespoon of water is just as effective as sea foam when poured into the pcv valve though. and sea foam is supposed to clean up cats too. but who runs cats these days? I run lucas oil additive in all my cars. I had an 89 with a rodknock and ran this stuff and told myself that when the motor blew i'd replace it. The motor lasted a year and a half with this stuff. Restored my oil pressure and everything. The car was stolen and stripped with the knock.
I dogged that car every day, took it to the runs and everything. The stuff works. I use it in every car i own. It looks like honey hella thick. Just change the oil when the cars hot after a good warm up.

That sounds like a good idea. But I changed my oil about 1000 miles ago and that royal purple is too damn expensive. I don't feel any loss in compression or power. I just wanted way to clean it out because I'm over 100k. I just really want to clean the valvetrain and cylinder walls. Isn't there a machine the dealer can plug into it and lke flush the cylinder walls?

cylinder wall flush??

i think the best your going to get a is a oil flush....i dont think theres a machine that does that...besides i think the rings do an ok job of keepin th ewalls clean...lol.

like i said ATF 2-3 quarts.....itll act like a detergant...and clean it all up. Ide also try a bottle of seafoam in an intake vaccumm line.... your corbra has those little open closey plates in the manifold right?? lol. im sure those are prolly gunked up....the seafoam will make your car smoke like a sumbitch to....so its normal.

????????

Nah not so much a cylinder wall flush but something to clean all the carbon deposits off the pistons and valves. U kno what I'm gettn @ damnit. Lol. But I think ima run with the seafoam. My buddy used it in his 98 cobra and he said it worked wonders. Is there more than one kind? And where's it available @? Can I just find it at napa?

I used that seafoam crap in my old 97 Cobra with 90K on it & I didnt notice a bit of difference. But the car ran ok in the 1st place, i just was thinkin the same thing your thinkin about cleanin the internals. I didnt even notice any smoke like everyone says seafoam does. But whatever, its cheap, u might as well try it.

So I ran the sea foam and no noticeable difference. Guess I didn't need it. Best part tho was that I hopped out in front of a van and stomped on it. Left a hellatious ball of smoke and couldn't even see him or any other traffic. I know that guy was pissed cuz he was runnin his a/c. Ahhh good times in the cobra.

There's a small change it seems when I'm above 5800rpm but I'm shifting by 6200. I had assumed I would of felt a bigger difference. Especially since I was hearing that the valves on the cobra that don't get hit by the injectors get real gunked up. And when I sucked in the faom it wasn't above 3200rpm so I don't know if it got past the IMRC plates to the rest of the intake. I felt a bigger difference when I started running royal purp. Maybe all the chevron wit techron is payn off. Cars runnin the best it ever ran @ the moment. I'm sure it helped but maybe not enough to notice
