I'm new to 5.0s' and there seems to be a lot knowledge and experience here ..so thanks for your input
Here is what I have :
Newish Short block ~ 1000miles w/ a b-cam.
edelbrock performer heads fms ,1.6 stud mounts . ( this car is a 1st gen Rx-7 w/ a 91 5.0,T-5, street legal road-race track toy, it weighs ~ 2550 and has 3.6 rear gears).
Here is what I'm thinking ( yes money is an object and it needs to pass smog, although I will have help from a talented smog tech in getting it to pass).
typhoon intake
24 lb maf and ls1 26 lb injectors, 225 lph fuel pump
70mm T/B
I don't think I want the b cam I think i want the f cam
Think i'm limited on the headers ( due to the existing steering box )to something not much bigger than the stock headers. I have a set of unknown aftermarkets, that look like i can work them in.
I desire to rev it to 6-6.5 k rpm
Will there be much of a mismatch w/ the smallish heads ?
(I can live with some loss of low end due to the light weight, better gearing and desired usage though).
Will the f-cam blow the smog out of the water ?
If so, perhaps an E type cam w/ 1.7's ?
Thanks , Stan

fms cams are the bottom of the barrel for 5.0 cams. id take something like a tfs stage one. much better cam and will still pass smog. typhoon....eeeeh, you might get a good one, they are chinese copies of edelbrock stuff. best intake is the rpm2, most people go tfs street heat after that. rpm2, tfs1 cam, those heads, and a good tune should put you near 300whp. dont play around with injectors like that. go with a pmas meter and larger throttle body. if you go with what you want you probably would be fine with the stock 19s, which would probably negate the need for an extensive tune, get 24s if you go bigger.

looking at the tfs cam , thanks for the suggestion.
What wrong w/ the ls1 injectors ? i've read they are the same as the 24's ?
what size throttle body ? 75 ?
I see alot of mod motor (90's ?) for sale that say that they can be made to work w/ the fox. What would that entail ?
I looked at the pmas, any reason that would be better than a vortech that costs 150 at Summit ?
Thanks S
Bill, May 5th and 6th at Sears point.See you there .

Eddie heads Performer RPM TFS 1
or if you have the $$
AFR 185 Holley Systemax II Custom grind
sounds good, I hear nothing but bad things about the Typhoon plus I think its a copy of the performer which is idle to 5500
although the RPM might not have provisions for SMOG equipment.
