Among other things,I noticed in the dark that the coil was arc'ing onto itself. I saw tiny little sparks going from the red plastic body to the outer square metal housing. Odd? or what? [Confused]

Mine was doing that too. Infact every coil i put on my Jeep did that. I just put a MSD coil on my 95 and i put the 95s stock coil on my Jeep and its not doing it yet. I am kinda nervous about my 95 though. The coil i put on the 95 was arcing when i put it on the Jeep and its brand new

I would check the engine grounds, or just add another one from one of the heads to the swaybar bolts on the frame rail.

mine did this when i put on some new msd 8.5mm wires. i noticed that the boot didn't completely cover the metal which ibelieve was the cause of the arcing. i then realized i had the coil wire on backwards and when i switched it around the boot completely covered the metal part. i haven't seen any arcs since...
