If the linkage is broken on my AOD is it worth fixing or having a shop fix it? Anybody every fix a busted AOD, difficult?

If you are talking about the nylon grommet (TV pressure) that broke on the throttle body, it depends on how long you drove it like that. More than a mile or so, the direct clutch pack is toast. Not a job for a beginner IMO. I have fixed probably 100+ AOD's and at least 5 times that amount of 4R70W's, so in my opinion, if you have never torn an automatic trans apart before, you might want to find another trans to put in your car for now, and tinker with the old one for the next time. Be sure to get the later style brass bushing when you go to replace the broken one.
