Sometimes after driving my car from high speeds to slowing down to make a stop, my car will die out....When I down shift just before I make a stop, the RPM's will drop down and so will the voltage meter on the battery and my car will die out. It starts right back up, but it's getting really annoying. Anyone know what this problem might be?? I've noticed my fuel pump is alot louder than my old 89 notch. It always nake that winding noise even after I crank up the car.....Could it be it's not getting enough fuel?? If it matters I have a or h pipe and bbk headers. Post up!!

Run the codes and see if anything comes up first.
My car would die when coming to a stop until I put in a 130 amp alternator. Don't know if that is your issue but its a good upgrade. Do you have electric fan and/or large stereo shit?

Like I said it may or may not be your issue though. Could be your fpr or vacume leak or somehting like that. You might want to run the codes just for shits and giggle in case its something else. You don't want to PTIF!
Whats your volts at when at idle?
I remember I couldn't drive with the headlights on and AC on at the same time or the car would always die coming to a stop.
I'm sure others will have a better idea,...good luck

Whats your engine idle at with the IAC unplugged?Try unplugging it and re-setting your base idle.I bet your motor dies if you unplug it while its running.Which would mean its set too low.If not that it could be that the IAC itself is bad.But set your base idle with the IAC unplugged first, see if that fixes your issue.

IAC is the cylinder shaped solenoid on the front side of your throttle body. You adjust the idle with the idle screw, which will be a screw with a slot for a flathead screwdriver on it and it also has a small spring behind it.Or if your TB is an aftermarket one its probably got an allen head screw in it.Its located on the lower side of your TB and contacts the throttle lever. With your engine fully warmed up,unplug the IAC with the engine running, the engine should not die,it should stay at base idle(6-700 RPM's).If it does die try adjusting the idle screw till you get the engine to about 6-700 RPM's,plug the IAC back in and go for a test drive. If it doesnt die and holds an acceptable base idle there is a good chance your IAC is dirty inside. You can remove it and clean it out with carb cleaner.Re-install it,check base idle, and go for a test drive. If none of this works try replacing it with a known good IAC.If this still doesnt work well have to look elsewhere in the engine for your problem, let me know.

how many miles on the car? does it still have the original distributor, if so. get a rebuilt unit. My old stand did the same thing. Everything checked out except the distributor. I change it, and all was well....
