My friend has a 1989 5.0 and sometimes his car doesnt start up especially after its been running for a while. When we where putting on his h-pipe after the car cooled down i accidently touched the started and that shit was smoking hot. Could that be the reason why it doesnt start when the car is warm?

You need to change the solinoid, the solnoid is getting heat soaked and doesn't want to work but when it cools off it will work. So change the solinoid.or get a new starter.

Are you running long tubes or shorties? If your starter is getting heat soaked you may want to consider getting a heat wrap for it.
Also, if you change starters you may want to upgrade to the mini torque starter while you are at it.

Heat wrap the starter up and buy a new $10 solenoid at Autozone.
If the starter is still good, you should be golden it worked for me.
