Iam trying to pull the axles off a 7.5 rear end but for some reason the pin inbetween the axles wont come out so i cant push the axles in and pull of the c clips. Is there something else holding in the pin beside that one small bolt?

pound the pin down 1/2" and then rotate the carrier 180* and pull the pin out with pliers, vice grips, etc.

Thanks, i just figured out that the bolt broke so i only pulled out about a quarter of it. Is the pin easy to break?

Where did you get the magnetic pin from, and how did you take out the bolt if it was still threaded in?

I still cant get the pin out, and there is no way to stick pliers in that little hole, I dont have a magnet strong enough to untread the bolt. What could i do i need to pull these axles off.

the only way I have been able to remove those damn bolts when they break is with a small drill and an easy out. It is a PIA, but I know of no other way to them out. It is very unlikely you will be able to simply break it. Good luck.

You can cut the cross pin out with a plasma cutter. [Big Grin]

Unless you've got another carrier to replace it with, don't bother. What's left of the broken bolt will damage the carrier if you attempt to pound the cross-pin out.
