I have a need to shorten my driveshaft and was wondering if there is a recommendation of a vendor in the Santa Clara area?

Does rear-end specialties do this kind of work? I need it shortened a LOT and balanced.

Just got off the phone with Rearend Specialties; they recommended "South Bay Driveline"

Has anyone done work with them before? Any comments?

Rick, it was 11.0". It leaves me with 5/8" of play but the problem now is, to remove it, I have to either drop the tranny or remove a u-joint. Can't slide it in from under the car now. Maybe I should of made it 10.5". [Frown]

Try putting the in neutral so you can rotate the shaft from the tranny while the rear stays still. That was what did the trick for me any way...this helps the splayed flange at the pinnion to clear. Also, if you have the 3-link setup, you can try adjusting the top bar to change the pinnion angle around, just mark it first so you can get it back to normal easily.
