I'm doing my 5spd swap this weekend. Do I really need the T5 exhaust hanger?

You dont need them. I always cut mine off the h-pipe. It allows you to tuck the pipe higher up.

same here, i dont have them on my prochamber, just put a jack under the junction(h or x) and jack it up a bit and tighten everything up.

plus with both hangers its a pain in the ass to try and get them in the tranny mount part. especially when you doing it on the ground

save yourself the trouble and get the exhaust hanger.. if in the long run you plan to lower the car, or even in stock-form sometimes, you'll scrape the bottom of the exhaust..

I've changed trannies quite a few times, each time on the garage floor. I would ABSOLUTELY suggest you keep your hangers. I shortened mine a couple inches, but kept them for the support. They are there for a reason.

with shorty's and a full tailpipe catback I wasn't able to get my H-pipe to fit up high enough without hangers so I had a shop make me some with some steel bar stock I bought at OSH for $4.

I tried everything to get it to sit up tight but as soon as I would remove the jackstand holding up the H the pipe would sag back down, scraping on every speedbump in my neighborhood.

doesn't scrap on anything now, and its lowered quite a bit

Cutting them a few inches short with a dremel and soaking everything with WD40 helps them go in easier. You can also use a big box ended wrench to bend them into shape, but if you have long tubes you rreally don't need the hangers.
