Where do you live? I have a friend who has a test only smog shop who can take car of you. I dont mean an illegal smog, just wont boot you out because your car is modified. Be sure to take all the info on your aftermarket parts: CARB and EO numbers when you go.

If your parts are smog legal then they have a CARB (California Air Resorces Board) number or an EO number that have been assigned to them. I guess the first question is, are your parts legal? Some stuff you can look up in Summit and the number is listed with the part. My throttle body and headers have the number right on em. I'm not running a legal cam but have a the number for an E303 just in case they ask. Just because a part isnt smog legal dosnt mean it wont pass either. You can usually only get away with it if they cant see the part, like with a cam.

I have had test only the last 3 times. I have passed them all. The guy here in turlock is pretty cool. As long as everything has CARB EO# its all good. I used the smog pass in a bottle. It works. My car has a lot of mods. 24 pound injectors. S trim. Edelbrock upper and lower.

I was freaked out too the first time. If you have catolitics still you should pass, providing everthing else works. Let the cats get hot. GOOD LUCK.

get a smog pre-test done first (ask for it) at a regular smog place to make sure you will pass.
tune shouldn't matter unless you are running horribly rich or lean, it which case either will fail you for smog.
