I have to change the resistor behind my fuel gauge. The gauge always reads red empty. Eventually I will have to remove the needle pointer to do the job. When I replace the needle, how do I position/point it now? There is no dowel or notch in either the pin or needle. This needle can be positioned anywhere! How do I establish some type of base-line setting? [burnout]

Ya know, I was thinking just that but the opposite, an empty tank. I reason that an empty tank is something to keep a closer eye on. But, that means I have to run the car completely out of gas first. [dance]
