From what I've been told these headers are smog legal with CARB #'s but I cannot find any proof of this online. Part # M-9430-P50 is the set that I need to purchase but even on Cali's air resource board and these headers are not listed. If anyone has these and there is an E.O. stamped tag on one of the headers please let me know! I'm waiting for Ford's tech line to open up right now..thanks all.

Not sure if they are. Are the heasd smog legal?? I have not seen any that were! So I don't see why the heads would be.

Yeah, the heads themselves are smog legal...but the aftermarket headers produced for them do not seem to be. However, I've had these heads on my car for about 6 years now and I'm basically tired of the trouble I have to go through to get the car smogged...I want to be LEGIT! LOL!
I have MAC shorties on there now with no CARB tag which is my current issue. Just talked to FMS and there headers are not CARB approved either...sheet.

How are the heads smog legal? Did you have them drilled? If not, and even if so and you get a jaskass tach. They will not pass. Those heads were never smog legal for anything older than 94. Good luck. Eddie

how is a smog tech going to know what kind of heads you have? especially if they're iron. heads do not need to be drilled for smog to pass either, those are only used the first 30 seconds of startup and dont affect anything after that

The pass. head has been drilled for emissions equipment. These heads have been prepped to be installed on smog-eqqiped vehicles and I've personally had my car smogged twice with the current set up I have. All I'd like to know is if there is a vendor out there that sells aftermarket headers with a CARB tag on them for these heads...that's it. THANKS!
