Just installed an Edelbrock water pump. Everything went well. Except reinstalling the serpentine belt. It is extreamly tight. A lot tighter than before. Any help?? I am worried about bearing issues down the line.

That belt only goes on one way. All parts are in the same place. I am thinking thr pully configuation is differant for the new pump.

Same pulley is on it? Pulley is seated correctly on the pump?

if you used the same pulleys and the same belt the waterpump would NOT change anything.I have an edelbrock pump on mine and it is identical as far as dimensions and belt routing is concerned. The belt will be tight as it uses a "tensioner" to set belt tension. If you set the belt configuration up corectly you should have no issues....

The water pump shaft is in a differant configuation than the stock pump. Thus raising the pulley 1/4 inch or so than the stock configuation. Edelbrock customer no service has not gotton back to me yet. And yes Lems I did have good help. Corona Lime and Doritoes. It was all good.

I think you are a liar! Your help was worthless.
