My car used to have a vibration whenever going faster than 70 due to the U joints being bad. I fixed it by buying an FMS alum. driveshaft and it took care of the problem for the most part. But when I accelerated hard it would still vibrate a little bit, then my T5 blew and I replaced the T5 not too long ago maybe a month or something ago.
Anyways, it's been working fine after I changed the transmission minus the synchros aren't in the greatest shape. But now when I'm driving about 55+ and if I let out of the gas it will vibrate. Not too harsh, But I'm not wanting to find out how much worse it gets the faster I'm going..
So I don't have the slightest clue as to what it could be. Maybe a balancer? Any suggestions before I tear my car apart?

FMS driveshafts tend to suck when it comes to balancing. Some people including myself have used a standard worm drive clamp around the shaft like a counter weight to get the driveshaft closer to being balanced. Mess around with the positioning of the clamp and see if it helps. It's a cheap try.

Rotate the driveshaft 180 degrees at the pinion flange first, and see if it gets better/worse, then try a clamp suggested by mtbaughs

This works also a lot of times and can also point out if the driveshaft is the issue

How do you know where to position the clamp on the d/s?...

It's something you just play around with. Usually I mount the clamp just behind the front u-joints. Than rotate the clamp to different positions and see if it has any affect on the vibration. Sometimes it works and other times it doesn't but it's a cheap fix in a lot of cases.

Hate to point out the obvious, but Driveline services, and other companies like that, can balance driveshafts. I don't think it's very expensive, either.
