well if you mean lock up, this happened to a friend of mine while he was on the freeway, his car died, and he needed a new belt.

Well, I can tell you first hand since it happened to me. It will squeel like a sum bitch, get really sluggish if you're under power or just kill the engine if you stop or put the clutch in. If you drive it like that it will eventually snap the belt.
I was way out in Fremont on my lunch hour when mine went and I had to get back to work. I had a pair of side cutters (dykes) in the car and cut the belt off then drove very easy to a Kragen. I bought a short belt to put on just to get me running and bypassed the smog pump. A new pump cost me like $35 from another Mustang guy.

thanks for the info. Alied Auto has one for $45.00 seems like a good price for a brand new one.
