Ok, so I'm putting all the suspension stuff from an SN95 onto my 88 LX. I know I need the master cylinder, but what I need to know is if the master cylinder from the SN95 will bolt right up to the Fox w/o modification and if it doesn't what needs to be done?

You'll need to tweak the stock lines to make it work. Also you'll need to remove the spring in the brake line distribution block (under master). Another item you'll need is a new hardline that runs from the new master cylinder to the drivers side brake line. You can get this from baer racing. The passenger side brake line will be a different thread pitch so if your running a braided line there you'll need to change this fitting to the right thread pitch. Good luck

Are these Cobra brakes or just plain 11" GT/V6 brakes?....
Dont forget about the proportion valve...
I'm pretty sure you can just keep the stock power brake unit along with the 94-95 master cylinder... [ April 01, 2004, 11:51 PM: Message edited by: Black94 5.0 ]

Also, I've heard different stories from different sources. Can anyone tell me which is true? I've heard that the rear axle on all 94+ cars is 3/4" wider than the foxbodies. Then I heard that only the 96+ cars had the wider rear axle. Which is true? I'm planning on running 03 Cobra wheels, so I'm not sure if they'll fit with the extra .75" width. And if it is wider, can I just roll in the rear fenders?

Also, I found this website linked on corner carvers. http://sn95brakes.cjb.net/ It outlines basically everything that needs to be done. If anyone else is planning on doing this, definitely check that site out. Thanks for the help guys! I think I've got it all covered. We're going to start tearing down the SN95 on Sunday and I'll post up some pics of the car when it's done in a few weeks.

Well thats the shitty part about this swap on a fox body car. I myself swapped the cobra set up onto my fox body. Back when ford was selling tons of the cobra conversion kits they also found quickly that the sn95 axles were in fact longer making the usual offset rims stick out too far. To fix this they made a special 36mm offset cobra r wheel which brought the tire and the wheel back under the fender. So anyone that went to an sn95 set up had to run this wheel or a wheel with this offset. I got a set for my conversion but since fox bodies are becoming out dated now they no longer produce this wheel. I search around the country and found a pair. Nowadays it may not be so easy. The '03 wheels will stick out. The only other option is running fox body axles and fabing a custom caliper mount which is a pain in the ass. So the two options you have are to try and find the wheel I got which are 1995 cobra r wheels with a 36mm offset or having custom caliper brackets made for the fox axles.

So rolling the fenders is not an option? The link says that with anything less than 9" width will be ok, but the 03 Cobras are 9".
Bottom line: I'm wondering if the 03 Cobra wheels will fit in the wheel well if I roll the fenders in a little bit. [ April 02, 2004, 01:04 AM: Message edited by: The Nick ]

Physically you can make them fit. They will however stick out past the fenders and IMO look kinda goofy

I see, right on. Yeah, that looks pretty dumb. I think I'll just go with the set of 17x8 wheels that I've got to avoid that fiaso. Thanks for all the help man!

Sure thing bud, but wait. Changing the rim diameter/size isn't going to solve the problem because the offset will still be off. It's the offset that controls how far things are sticking out.

Yeah, but I figure with a 17x8 wheel with like 255 or 265 series tires won't stick out nearly as much as the 17x9s with 285 series tires in the back. We'll have to figure something out.
