can a non HO block be turned inta roller motor?

yes, several companies make retrofit kits.

if you also use linkbar style lifters, you dont need to retrofit your block.

If you use the linkbar, the only modification you have to do is drill and tap two small holes in the lifter valley for the spider plate.

well not really because the lifters are tied together.

you would need to grind for the dogbones, and drill two holes for the spider (which hold the dogbones) if you were not going to use linkbar style lifters.

thats what i thought. thanks. what about heads.will the roller parts work with the older style (non HO) heads ?

the valve springs are different, roller cams require atleast dual springs because they need to be stiffer than non roller cams. for solid roller, you need even stiffer springs.
