Topic: disconnecting tie rod from steering rack

The rod is bent(not the tie rod end) and I need to know how to disconnect it from the steering rack. I see a roll pin and have no clue how i can take it out or of that's even how im suppose to. help me out guys.

If you're gonna take the tie rod off then are your boots torn?...It would be a good time to replace them..Also did you mark where the tie rod end was?...If you mark it it will be eaisier to put back to the stock alignment settings...
Oh yeah, the inner tie rod attaches to the rack by the fitting with the roll pin you mentioned...You should be able to just un-thread the fitting from the rack...

Thanks Rob.
My boots actually look good . I went to go get my car aligned and the guy told me my inner tie rod was bent. When I bought my car that side was crashed, so it only makes sense.
I drilled the pin out and the rest was a peace of cake. I took some time and painted my calipers since I was down there and greased my tie rod ends. Now to buy some camper plates and back to the alignmentment shop.

Cool, What rack bushings do you have?....Might as well replace those too, right?
MM solid aluminum ones worked great for me...
