Would a 331 or a 347 be better for a blower if built the same. with 8.5:1 comp.

With the same internals, same quality, no oil problems...the choice is easy. The 347 would offer a bit more displacement and thus more potential for power. That would be for both NA or the power adder route..

are going to be on a stock block
if so neither would be better

a plain old stock block 302 will do u fine, u can make enough power on stock internals to crack a stock blovk co why upgrade to an all forged setup and just have the block come apart and ruin everything

even if u have a better block, its just not as easy as which is better

the 347 will have more torque, the 331 will wind up higher, the 331 will last longer because it doesnt load the side of the cylinder as much, and the 331 has a much better rod ratio

if u have to get a stroker and a blower for a stock block combo, get a 331, it will last longer, and make plenty of power to give to two seperate but non running blocks [Razz]

I recommend reading this post about the whole 331 vs 347 debate.

One of my favorite quotes would have to be:

"The ideal rod / stroke ratio for most V-8's, is 8 rods to 1 crank."

I'd rather build a 408 and make more HP than build a 377 just to be "different". [Razz]
