I can do the job for $150.00 if it has drum brakes and $200.00 if it has disc brakes.

It is easier to do disk brakes dude. Why do you charge 50 more dollars to do something that is 1/2 as hard? Drums have waaaaay more little pieces that need to be removed and put back on. Discs just need the caliper unbolted and tied up/away and the disc pulls off? I am just wondering

disc brakes arent easier or harder that isnt the point or reason for a 50.00 difference in price.when doing a gear change or any internal rearend work where the axel has to be removed on a disc brake car you have to remove the calipers, discs and abs sensor. On a drum brake car you dont have to do anything but pull the drum off the car.hence the difference in price.hope this clears up any questions you have or had.

I do gear sets all the time for folks here on the board. $175 flat, I could care less if it's disc or drum...it ain't a big difference.

Understandable you charge your prices and thats how you do it and if that works for you more power to you. [Big Grin] .My prices are very fair and are cheaper than any other shops here in the Bay Area.

Anyhow,I actually get a lot of requests for gear swaps and such from people up your way that dont want to travel all the way down to Santa Clara if you would like I can send them your way.

What you feel you need to charge for the work...charge it! I do it just to make a few extra $ for myself. Just stating what I charge for the good folks here on the board [Wink] If you come across anyone this side of the Bay that needs work done, drop my name, I'd appreciate it.
