So if I drive my car everyday it will start every day. If I let it sit for 4 or more days I need to jump it. This is just a old, dead, bad bat. right?

Do a load test on the battery...Most batteries will be fine if the alternator is charging it everyday...
A bad cell in the battery will cause the battery to not hold its charge....
Go to Kragen and get the batt load tested..

You may have some shady wiring or a short that is drainin your battery. Also, check the fluids in the battery to see if they are at the right level.

How can they test it acuratly? I mean what if it holds a charge for like 3 days. Can they really pin point the magnatude of the charge being held or lack there of?

The test measures how much the voltage drops when there is a load on the battery...If the voltage drops too low, on a load, then it has a bad cell and can /will not hold a charge...

I've had my car sit for 2 weeks at a time without being started and it started right up after two weeks. If it doesn't start after 3 or 4 days you definitely have a problem. Check your battery and charging system and if all is good then check for a drain.

what would the cable sparking have to do with it? I don't know a car that doesn't put off a small spark when reconecting the battery?????!
I'm just gonna get it tested. I haven't done any work on the car that required any electronics so I doubt I have a short. I had the car for a little over a year so who knows how long that battery has been in there.
Thanks for the help!
