I forgot to Take the Throttle Bottle to oil filler neck Hose off and cap the ends because i put the supercharger on. So i got on it just a tad to pass a car on the way home today, came to a stoplight just before my house and my car started smelling like burnt oil. Well anyways because of that boosted air hit the crankcase and shot oil out of the dipstick tube and onto the exhaust [Frown] What a dumbass i feel like...now to fix tha damed pulley belt situationj

Dont feel bad...On my 2.3 turbo, I replaced 2 valve cover gaskets and an oil sending unit twice before I figured out that the boost was shooting oil outta my dipstick tube.... [Razz]

I have a vacuum line and hose clamps holding my dipstick in the dipstick tube now... [Big Grin] .

i put oil in my cobra after the first leg of a roadtrip to enter a car show. unfortunately, i forgot to replace the filler cap. not sure how many times i got into boost, but the morning of the show, i popped the hood at the carwash and was greeted by an oil-soaked hood liner, and just about the whole engine compartment...

at least the cap was sitting right where i set it.

good luck getting that cleaned up
[Big Grin]

i ended up ditching my hood liner
