How do you like it? I just bought one today and was surprised to see that it comes in two pieces. Does the center piece clamp together or should it be welded?

Thanks

Use the clamp. If it leaks, have a muffler shop weld it. No need to clamp the piss out of it. Doing so is a sure way to cause a leak. Don't tighten the clamp until everything is installed and lined up how you want it.

I had a Pace setter H pipe on my 94 and I had to modify it....The balance tube in the middle, the part where the "H" connects was only about 1.5" and the actual hole inside was smaller on mine...I installed the H pipe myself and then took it to a muffler shop where they welded/installed the correct 2.5" balance tube and got rid of the shitty 1.5 hole and the small diameter balance tube... I just put on an X pipe about a month ago. chances are you will need a trip to the muffler shop to weld up the space where the U clamps go as well as the breather tube.

But once you get the exhaust leaks out it does just as good as any other brand

Thanks for the info guys...

It won't be on for a while but I'll be sure not to clamp it too tight. If I run into any problems, I'll just have a 2.5" balance tube welded in it's place just as black94 5.0 recommended. [patriot]

Just remember that off road pipes are illegal...So, when you go to a muffler shop to get it welded make sure they're cool with that...My off road pipe was one of the best mods that I did, I gained 3 tenths in the 1/4 with it!...

Good luck! [patriot]

I went to a shop near my work and they said they'd help with welding but only if I sign a document stating that my car came into their shop w/out the cats which is cool by me...

I'm having a 331 built and won't be able to put the hpipe on until early Jan. I can't wait.

Thanks for the advice.

Tony

I concur. After I got my car smogged I came home and put the O/R pipe back in... MAN! What a fucking difference! It seems as though the cats hold the car back and make it less and more slowly responsive to the throttle. [patriot]

I don't think welding the pipe at the H is nessecary, but I had mine done at the local muffler shop just to avoid any future potential problems.

Check the ball-ends to ensure they are a full 2.5 inches in diameter at the opening. My Pacesetter was grossley undersized! We're talking less then 2 inches.

yeah Pacestter's are really cheap but they are usually undersized. You get what you pay for. I'd imagine it shouldn't hurt that much, but next time you should think about Bassani. In the car game, stuff gets expensive. Go quality the first time so you don't have to do it a second [patriot]

I currently have a Bassani X w/cats on there now, which was like $500 w/shipping.

I wanted to see how the sound would change with the o/r h so I bought this one from BARELYLEGAL brand new for $100. Will it be much louder?

Thanks...
