Currently i am getting a rebuild on my 99 cobra and i want to know what you can say about a big HP car.
what does it feel like?
what are somethings to be aware of?
what are the major changes when you double your HP?
I want to know what to expect and maybe have some of you guys brag about your car and what it changes.

thanks.

400rwhp+ please respond.

You buy drag radials right away because street tires (though fun) are dangerous.

Because they don't hold traction for squat, you will want a stickier tire, I would spin through 3rd at the track with street tires like it was cool.

they dont hook as good, so when you shift your backend might fish tale. traction is EVERYTHING in street/track racing. If you cant plant the tires to the grounds then you cant use all your 400 ponies [Big Grin]

I will have to throw in like others that the traction situation is a big issue. When my car was NA, shifting was easy and traction was never an issue (even with street tires). You would just have to launch reasonably and think about your shift points. Now add about 200+ rwhp and you are going sideways, losing traction, and smoking at every shift and at the top of every run to the high rpm ranges.

the biggest difference i notice in driving my 450 HP cobra is that i use very little of the available gas pedal... i only use about the first inch of travel during normal everyday driving. when i put the pedal to the floor, it sets me back in the seat all the way to redline!

when it gets 'on the cam', the acceleration is incredible!

i'm pretty sure my eyeballs have sunk about 1/2" deeper into my skull from the accelerative forces applied... [Eek!]

What are your expectations on your car?

BTW, Why don't you use a different avtar like pissing on a Honda or something? At least then you'll be able to back the talk [Razz]
