there is a sending unit right near the oil filter on your car J.

It's going to stick out of the block right in front and above the filter I believe.

If it's an electrical, then you will spin the sending unit on the end of it, and attatch the wiring as necesary, then simply run it into the car to the guage.

Very simple install on a fox.

An electric oil pressure guage will have a sending unit with a spade connector for the single wire to the gauge.

A mechanical gauge will run engine oil from a fitting to a brass, but most of the time nylon tubing, to the back of the oil pressure gauge...The mechanical guage can get messy if you have it installed inside your interior and for some reason its starts leaking...

agreed. It is still a simple install, just risky should anything leak towrads the inside of the vehicle (mechanical runs actaul oil pressure, not just an electric signal from a sending unit.

Lemme know if you have any problems jason, I'd be happy to help out.

the gague will come with several fitting, you can choose the one that fits on your car.

The hoook up is the same place I described earlier, right near the oil filter. Just spin the brass fitting provided by autometer on that end, then run the line to the gague inside the vechile, and connect it. It's pretty simple.

also be sure that you do not crimp the line on the install or you will have a mess.i had to pull apart my dash to do it.i ran it trhough where the speedo cable comes through the firewall.just have to pull of the instrument cluster off.also a hanger helps u to run it through the fire wall cause most likely you cant fit your fingers in there.thats the way i did mine its a nice and clean fit.let me know how it works out.

My oil pressure sending unit on my '93 block needs to be replaced. Does the Autometer electric oil pressure gauge take it's own reading from the oil feed OR does it just copy the reading from the original sensor and transfer it to P.S.I numbers on the gauge? I'm just thinking of getting one because the sensor costs $50 @ the dealership new, and an electrical Autometer Oil Pressure gauge costs $58 new online.

the mechanical gauge takes oil through a line up to the gauge, the line is comeing from the block.
the electrical gauge takes it from a sending unit i THINK that the electrical gauges come with new send units im not positive tough.
