I have a 1989 GT(new engine and 4:10 gears). I live in San Jose and when I took a trip to Fremont and I got off the freeway my stang started to miss fire and putt-putted to A stop. I kinda sounded like I was outta fuel but I had a full tank. I tryed to turn it back on but it died right away. I waited 30 minutes and It started back up but then died a couple blocks down. I then waited 3 hrs and then It started back up and I made it home. Could it be my fuel pump heating up because I have 4:10 gears and my flowmasters are cut after the mufflers and the fumes going straight into the gas tank? PLEASE any advice would help. I took to two mechanics. One couldn't find shit and the other replaced the TPS and the EGR. WHen I dive this stang in the street it runs like a champ untill I dawg it.......

my thoughts were the tps , and egr...

Ever heard of the K.I.S.S. theory? Keep it simple stupid. Basically, go with the basics first. I have to tell myself that all the time.

Fuel pump? Possibly...but first things first...have you changed you fuel filter, cap and rotor lately?

It's not likely that this is the case...but its absoutely possible.
