Try some lube on on the tool ends. And once it is pushed in as far as it will go- the couplings can be VERY hard to pull apart. I have the plastic ones ($10 a set) and they work fine. Just have to pull HARD to get the lines apart.

man i've tried pulling as hard as i can...i've done the wiggles, the shakes, the tears the couplings head off yank. Nothing is working.

Is there any other tricks anyone might know about to get these damn things off?

This makes me want to switch this to a carbed car.

Yeah I have the metal tool and it sucks. Buy the plastic AC and fuel line kit, it works the best. BTW after putting the tool on, and slipping it inside where the spring lock is, push the fuel line in the direction as if you were putting it back on, then pull it off, works for me. Hope that helps, if you have to pull that hard something isn't right.

Most auto parts stores have the plastic set. The one I have is made by Lisle, it has 6 sizes on it.
