I need to pull some of my valve springs to check valve guide wear and was wondering if anyone had a valve spring compressor that I could borrow/rent?

I know that you can get the keepers out by putting a socket on the spring and smacking it with a hammer but I would need the tool to put everything back together.

Anyone have one that they'd be willing to lend or rent?? I'm in San Jose. Thanks!

Sean.

I think I have (2) but I jut moved and can't seem to find anything. There's a passable one sold at Kragen's and a slightly better one at Sears, $25-$40.

If it turns up I'll let you know (I'll look tonight)

Thanks for the reply Shade. Don't worry about it. I stopped off at Sears on the way home and got one for $14. Small enough price to pay to get the job done. Thanks anyway. I appreciate it!

Sean.
