I was wondering what hp differnce is there between different compresion heads? I'm looking at some AFR 165's for a cobra intake, crower 15511 combo. Also, when is a pedestal set up no longer appropriate, and have to go with stud mount heads? [ September 14, 2003, 05:29 PM: Message edited by: Yung Than ]

rough rule of thumb for a stock 302 shortblock:
64cc=9:1 61cc=9.2:1 58cc=9.4:1 54cc = 9.7:1
each full point in compression (e.g. 10:1 vs 9:1) is worth around 10-15 HP.
don't kill me for the ballpark figures guys. I realize there are a multitude of variables here. [ September 14, 2003, 09:39 AM: Message edited by: shade- ]

Thanks for the info, I will make a note of it. I was also wondering the difference between the stud and ped mount heads? Is there a certain hp limit or combo application for when it's a must to go stud mount? To what limit are pedestals reliable to? Thanks in advance.
