i don't drive my car alot, so i might as well try out modifying an intake. my question is this: in short-runner intakes for dohc cobra motors, do they flowtest each runner to match actual flow, or just chop the runners to a single length?
my thought is that first you would cut the runners to length, reassemble the intake and flowtest each one, shortening any low-flowing runners and thereby equalizing the intake charge in each cylinder.
it seems that would maximize power, but is it being done/worth trying?

yep, that's where i was reading about it last year... i'm finally to a point where i think it would make a difference. i dont' recall him flowtesting each runner but i'll go reread the article since it has been so long.
thanks for the link!

i just re-read the runner length part...
i think he's missing something. since they lost flow, i believe there are waves in the flow and they need to cut the runners such that they are at a peak, not a valley. theoretical physics bs...
either that, or the bell at the end of the runner makes more of a difference than they suspect.
i also believe that by not flowtesting them in the assembled intake (if that's possible) they are missing some important data. since #8 cyl runs lean usually as evidenced by many blown up motors with #8 gone...by adjusting for equal flow, each cylinder would make maximum power because of optimized mixture.
