My sister 2000 gt has a laud whine comming from the left side of the engine. it gets lauder at higher rpms. I thought power steering but its not on that side. some shop told us its the "idle arm pully baring". or somethin like that. does that seem right?

if their is a tentioner pulley or idler pulley the bearings can go out on thoes. if its the powersteering the noise will change with differend loads on the steering turn the wheel does the sound change if it does then thats the noise.
