Ok I have a set of heads I just picked up they are aluminum twisted wedges. They were ported by FPS and they have springs with a 125 - 135 rate on them, thats what the paperwork says. I am also using a CompuCam 2040 with 1.6's, will these clear the stock 1990 shortblock ? I have been told different things by different people. And also will edelbrock intakes seat correctly on these heads like they do on edelbrock products?
Thanks, and also this is the combo so far
Stock 80k mile shortblock Twisted Wedges w/ stage 2 port Comp 2040 cam w/ 1.6's Intake ??? undecided 65 tb 73 mass air 24lb inj pulleys no a/c , ps or any smog equal lengths w/ 2.5 offroad h and flows, turn downs
Think I'll get close to 300 rwhp?

just put a tfs intake on it and you'll know it'll seat fine. the only intake that i've heard that lines up funny is the holley intakes... but i've never seen it, just heard it.

The 2040 is an "E cam", similar to the TFS stage 1 that fasterdamnit runs. He makes 300 rwhp with almost the exact same setup you listed. Any flow numbers on the heads though?

no they didnt provide me with a flow sheet, so i dont really know the numbers. Did FasterDammit have to notch the pistons for that cam?

if you haven't picked up an intake yet, the track heat from TFS or the performer rpm from edelbrock would be fine.
as far as gasket matching goes, both the TFS heads and the performer rpm intake ports are close to a felpro 1250, but need a little cleaning up (0.1" max around).
I didn't even gasket match my heads/intake and I know it's off a bit. Something for when the heads are off again.
I would suspect your heads have been milled, so when you slap the E cam in there, check P/V clearance.
I bet 300 rwhp is ballpark for your setup. [ February 17, 2003, 01:22 PM: Message edited by: shade-tree ]
