Okay..here is what I want to upgrade on my tiring 5.0 cobra:

-MAF (perhaps to a 77mm)
-Not sure if I need a bigger power pipe for the above since I have one for the stock MAF unit.
-TB (to probably a BBK unit at 70mm)
-Injectors (probably to 42lbs.what color are those?)
-Smaller blower pulley (still running base one)
-Reburn chip, of course.

Has anyone done this in one big step on basically a stock blown cobra with a few bolts ons? If you did, what were your impressions...how much of an improvement, and what kind of problems did you run into (if any)?

After this, it will be an new block (377w or 347w), better heads, and intake.

All I have to say is get an Accufab throttle body because the opening is whatever you choose, 70mm,75mm,80mm etc. but it tapers or "Opens up" to 90mm at the end where it meets the upper intake. I am sure with a BLOWN motor that this will be very nice [Smile] Just giving the opinions you asked for.

42 lbs injectors are green.... but why not go with 50's so you'll have a bit more room to grow with your future motor?

Can you post the exact combo and dyno numbers of your existing setup?

Actually only the Accufab "Race" throttle bodies are tapered. They start out at 90mm and decrease to whichever size you choose(70,75,80 ect...) where the TB meets the EGR spacer.

I wouldn't suggest running one as I doubt your superchargers discharge tube is anywhere near 90mm.

Does accufab make a throttle body for the 95 cobra intake? Actually I wasn't considering changing the intake(s) as I wanted a good low/mid street characteristic for the car...this car is not going to be a balls out car...just a good strong daily driver...

Phil--- great simple combo... You're already doing well with a stock pullied S trim on a stock cobra motor making 410 rwhp. I don't know how much of a restriction your throttle body is. Build up the fuel system and toss on a smaller blower pulley and let her rip. 450+ rwhp at 13 psi?

------Accufab does NOT make any TB's for 94-95 5.0L Mustangs!!...I hate to say it, but if your going bigger than 65mm BBK is all there is [Frown] ...

*note: With my 70mm BBK TB the throttle return spring was a lot stiffer..I took my Secondary return spring off so the pedal effort was closer to stock!..

Rob, he already got a 65mm throttle body from the factory. He owns a 5.O Cobra. Check out his combo on his web page:

quote:
Vortech S-Trim Supercharger
Raceysystems Blower Inlet
Racesystems Autologic Dyno Tuned chip
JBA Headers
Bassani Xpipe w/cats
Edelbrock Cat Back Exhaust
190lph intank Fuel Pump
T-Rex Auxillary Fuel Pump
Autometer Boost and Fuel Guages
Pro-5.O Shifter
3.55 Ring and Pinion Change
BBK Rear Lower Control Arms
Maximum Motorsports Castor/Camber Plates
H&R Springs
Tockico 5 Way Adjustable shocks/struts
Griggs Subframe Connectors
FRPP Strut Tower Brace
'97+ Cobra Rear Sway Bar
Polyurethane Bushings
Synthetics Througout

With the above mods, the car puts out 405rwhp/370rwtq

Sawson:NO SHIT!....I know that Cobras come with 65mmTB....I put IF you are going to go bigger than 65mm, BBK 70mm is all there is...

I agree with Sawson with the fuel system.....Raising the boost a little should hurt either [burnout] ..

Actually the only svt cobra that came with a 65mm throttle body was the '93 model. The 94-95 cobras only have a 60mm throttle body and a 70mm MAF...the same setup as a gt of the same years! Can you believe that...kind of sucks...and that is what I am currently using (surprisingly with good results)..just think how much better it would be to have a larger intact tract to the manifold...sort the main reason I was curious on how much of an improvement it might be.

I checked out the accufab website and they have throttle bodies listed for the 94-95 cobras, but on top (in read) it states they are not available..not sure what that means...

Kinda off topic but looked where your little picture of your car was and saw they give free homepages. Is there anyways to put more than just one picture on that webpage?

Damn it!!!! [Mad] ...I had an argument with a friend of mine who bought a 95 Cobra and he told me it was a 100% stock...When I went to his house it had a 65mm TB [Confused] ..I didnt think 65mm was stock!!..Thanx for putting me right again!! [Smile]

.WOW [Eek!] A 60mm on a supercharged Cobra does seem very retrictive...I think you could benefit a lot from a 70mm TB & 77MM mass air!!..At least 10-20rwhp?

Please let me know next time you dyno, I'd love to come see how much you gain, if/when you go ahead with the mods you originally listed.. [burnout]

Oh yeah I wanted a polished Accufab TB for my '94 GT..(I bought a BBK and polished it myself)When I called Accufab they said they did not make them..I know on there web-site they list 94-95 but I think its for the 94-95 351 Saleens(86-93 style)

Phil- Have you checked out the Member's photo album? http://www.CaliforniaFords.com/cgi-bin/album.pl

As for 60mm vs 65mm. Get a ruler and look at how much half a centimeter is. I honestly don't think it will make much of a difference on a supercharged car. Nothing that justifies the price of a new TB and spacer at least. For that money, I think you'll see better gains from 1 3/4" or 1 7/8" shorties. Blower cars always respond well to exhaust mods.

I think my exhaust is pretty much done for now until I get new heads (or actually the new motor). I am still running the jba 1 5/8 shorties into a xpipe w/cats and an edelbrock cat back. It has a pretty unique sound to it..not many cars have the same sound...which is kind of cool.

I haven't checked that album out yet. Pretty cool. I have loads of pictures of my carf and pictures of me racing my bike at Sears/Thunderhill/Laguna...perhaps I will upload some... [Big Grin]
