hmmm i recently installed 2 12 inch subs in the back of the hatch, now after a week of beating around everywhere, the hatch wont open any more.....i press the hatch open button in the glovebox, and the dome light goes on, and i hear a destictive motor sound, and i tug and i tug and it wont come up.... if i insert the key in the hole with it closed, i can see it pop up about a 1/4 of an inch, and then same thing no more...it tug so hard that the rear suspension can become completely unloaded....i am really confused and would appreciate any help out there..... thanks.... oh yeah it worked fine last night, and there is nothing in the way from keeping it open or closed????

There is a bolt with a torx head that the hatch latches on to. This bolt can come loose and out of alighnment or the plastic sleeve around it can crack and cause problems. If you need a new sleeve, check out the HELP section at the auto parts stores. These are the common problems, but yours may be a more rare problem with the latch itself.

I don't know. Hard to say what the problem is... Check out another hatcback to understand how the latch works, then fold your back seats down and crawl into the hatch with a flash light and some tools and see if you can work something out.

Have you tried pushing down on the hatch with the key un-locking it?

why you wanna open it?, just keep beat playin and maybe it'll come loose eventually. That's what'd I do, but then no one knocks harder then Jo.
Maybe u can turn the bass up and then have someone push the button, and u can turn the key all in unison.
