Stick the #1 coil wire into your mouth (optional, put a spark plug on it for that *extra* kick) #2 get a flashlight (kinda small so that it fits in your mouth with the coil wire) #3 have a friend start up the car #4 find your distributor wrench while you are being shocked in the mouth at roughly 15x a second #5 loosen the distributor enough to turn it by hand #6 pry the SPOUT connector out while being shocked at that same ~ 15x per second rate #7 lean over the balancer with the SPOUT disconnected and the distributor free to turn by hand #8 loosen up your face muscles and position your teeth so that when you get shocked, it causes you to bite down on the flashlight just like a timing gun #9 observe the harmonic balancer and try to find 10 ATDC, 0 and 10 BTDC and remember to look at the 'pointer' for your current timing. The blinks of your flashlight, mixed with dripping saliva, and possibly some blood at this point should allow you to set your timing. #10 rotate the distributor untill you get that 14 degree setting

Dude there should be a notch cut into the base of the distributor with a matching one in the top of the block you can just line them up. Or I would suggest going with a little more advance.
