I just bought a set of stock 351w heads off a newer 351 roller motor. Does anyone know if the valve size or ports are larger or better? I'm going to put these heads on my 302 5.0 I know I have to get the special bolts with a shoulder fit the larger 1/2 inch bolts. I also know that the 302 GT40p heads that came on trucks were better than stock. I would think the same would go for the 351 heads.

It is my understanding that after 1978, 302 and 351 heads are the same from the factory. GT40P heads are what came in the 5.0 Explorer, and are better than any other OEM head, slightly bettering the GT40 that came on the Cobra 5.0's, due to better exhaust flow. They usually require a special header to clear the plugs, which are at a different angle. Most header manufacturers have these available. I believe your valve size will turn out to be 1.78/1.46. There is some complied flow data on the internet: Click here:
Hope this helps...

All of the late model 351W heads are the same as 302's..most are even the same casting #'s as the 302 truck heads. "E5AE" is the most common casting..same ones I found installed on my 351W pulled from a 92 Crown Vic.

Those heads are junk J/P lol.
We already know that the truck heads have less of a boss in the ex. port than regular 50's do.
also then have a big fat T on them representing they are for trucks which do flow bettet.
This info on the flow is from my machinest who builds heads all day.
I bet your car will still [burnout]
