hey,
i just got "finished" working on my 5.0 (the intake)
i lost my manual so i done this blindly and forgot to make sure the motor was top dead center when i pulled the distributor out:(
...anyway after dickin around with that,. the injector on number 5 cylinder was leaking fuel ...
i need to replace that...but in a quick fix i pushed it around and gave it the finger [Mad] and it managed to stop leaking.now the timing is adaquet enough to start the car but its very rough..the best way to describe it is that it sounds like a 8 banger volkswagon bus. [Confused] maybe the rear gasket slid off when i put the tight fitting intake on.??
in otherwords creating a vacuum leak...
it also sound like it may be missing.
7 cyl.?
i don't know..
anyone in long beach willing to give me a hand
free beer!
dddddddddaaaaaaaaammmmmmmmm 5.0! i love fords but i hate working on them

I would make sure the timing is correct before you do anything else. Get your timing light out, and see what its at. Make sure you disconnect the spout connector when you check it too. should be 10-14 deg before top dead center. Once thats done, then you can eliminate that possibility. Then check to make sure all your plug wires are on, cap/rotor arent damaged, etc. If it still runs bad, then check for vacuum leaks. If the leak is bad enough to make it run really poor, it should be fairly easy to find ( hose off,, or incorect/damaged gasket on manifold). Oh,forgot one thing, make sure you have ALL PLUG WIRES GOING TO THE RIGHT CYLINDER. Might have mixed em up when you pulled the distributor. I believe the firing order (off the top of my head) is 1-3-7-2-6-5-4-8... good luck!!
