My Air Conditioning on my 98 Cobra was working fine today then it just stopped blowing cold. I can tell the clutch on the pump is not engaging. Checked all fuses under dash seem to be fine. Any ideas what this could be. It has done this once before but it started working again on it`s own. What controls the clutch on the A/C pump to come on.

Refridgerant pressure can cause the clutch not to come on. You might have a pressure switch thats not messed up, refridgerant charge too low (although i doubt its this, if it did it before and started working again). You may want to check for leaks just in case, just to eliminate that possibility.

Nah, i dont know of any good places. Look in the phonebook for AC places.... should be alot of them. Does it not work at all, or just doesnt blow cold? How often did you use it before?? One problem with this area, is that most of the year, its too cold for ac, so people dont uses it. then, when it gets hot all the sudden, people try to use it, and it doesnt work. Why? The seals in the A/C system dry out, because it isnt used, and eventually start to leak. Youre supposed to run the AC at least a few times a month, to keep the seals lube, so they dont dry out... just a word of advice.

Check for 12v at the clutch harness, and a good grond. if you do not have 12v at the clutch, check for 12v on the high and low pressure switchs. Another way to check this is to unplug both the high and low pressure switchs and jump them with a paperclip folded in half. Then check for 12v at the clutch. If you have 12v and the clutch still does not come on, the clutch is bad. but if it does come on; either your low on freon, one of the two pressure switchs could be bad, or the 12v signal from the controls could not be there(blown fuse). E-mail if you have any quetions.
