i talked to a guy on th ephone today at fairway sport and performance, he told me with an offroad pipe on a 01 gt from bassani i would loose 12 pounds torque and horsepower unless i got the one with cats. he also said i had to get a cutsom chip burned to accomodate for it if i did still put on the offroad pipe. sounds like bs to me, is it true? anyone had offroad pipe then later added chip?

the guy is either trying to screw you, or he is a fucking idiot. No chip is needed for this type of change....Tons of members on here will vouch for that....

Hahahaha, thats hilarious.
You don't need a chip for that. The only time your gonna need a chip is when you are %100 done with your mods, then you get a custom burned one.

Now... running a O/R pipe will throw a code, making your check engine light come on. It's won't be a problem for performance however.
A chip can be programmed to turn this off, or you can buy a 02 sensor plugins...
Maybe this is what the guy meant?

That could be it....but don't waste the money on a chip until youare done with your mods....check into mil eliminators...that will solve the check engine light.

ive got an offroad x on now but im gettin a new one, i hav emil elimators but i ran a 14.5 5 at the track a while ago when i had turndowns and flowmaster mufflers with an offroad pipe, i was pissed, i had intake also, so i was wondering if maby i had lost any torque? i think my fuel pressure is a bit low because my car stalls some times when i go to reverse, u think a adjustible fuel pump would help? how many psi's should i run at?
