Author Topic: SCE Copper head gaskets? 89saleen ¯ Member # 3083 posted                              I just installed SCE Titan copper head gaskets on a supercharged motor. Are these no-good for the street & only for racing? Somebody says that the motor will run hot? I know I have to re-torque them after running the motor for an hour. Alot of people are running cometic gaskets these days. I have the felpro locwires but these have their own downsides. The block has an o-ring receiver groove cut into it and the heads have a stainless o-ring wire installed in them. The gaskets are not the Titan gaskets but the plain copper. I use a spray-on gasket adhesive on them to seal the water passages. Seems to work fine on the street and track but I do take some measures to avoid leakage, mainly I vent the radiator and remove the cap when the motor is shut down. This helps prevent the water from being sucked into the cylinders when everything starts cooling down.
